Alexandra Raisman
Aly Raisman is a gold-medal-winning Olympic gymnast who has led team U.S. team to victories in 2012 and the year 2016. Six of her Olympic gold medals are part of a record-breaking collection. Aly was also the winner of two World Championships teams. Aly is from Needham in Massachusetts. The passion she has for the sport of gymnastics is traceable to an 18-month old "mommy with me" class. Aly has been an active supporter of body positive, and is both an advocate and a leader on the floor. She recently spoke out in Larry Nassar's sentencing case. Aly Raisman was born in 1994 and began gymnastics career at a young age. She helped the U.S. Gymnastics Team win the 2011 World Championships. She won two medals in 2012 at the London Summer Olympics, one for the team, and one to be awarded for floor work. In the year 2016 Raisman returned to Rio for the Olympics in Rio, winning silver medals for the individual all-around final and floor exercise as well as gold in the women's team gymnastics event. Raisman disclosed in 2017 that she was sexually abused by team doctor Larry Nassar. The following year, she brought an action in the name of USA Gymnastics as well as the U.S. Olympic Committee.
